Dr Ebere Okereke
Dr. Ebere Okereke is a physician, global health strategist, speaker, and adviser with more than three decades of experience across Africa, the United Kingdom, and international institutions. She is based between Kenya and the UAE, working across Africa and international platforms.
Her career has crossed public health practice, institutional leadership, policy, diplomacy, philanthropy, and systems transformation. She has worked with national, regional, and global institutions on health security, health systems strengthening, leadership development, strategic partnerships, and governance.
Ebere’s work is shaped by a central concern: how countries, institutions, and leaders build the capability, legitimacy, and confidence to shape their own futures. This has led her into work on African health sovereignty, leadership pipelines, health financing, philanthropy, regional institutions, and global health reform.
She brings the perspective of a practitioner who has worked inside institutions, led programmes, advised senior leaders, supported boards, moderated high-level conversations, and written publicly on the politics and future of global health.

Ebere has held senior roles across public health and global health institutions. These include Chief Programme Officer and Adviser to the Director General at the Mohamed bin Zayed Foundation for Humanity, CEO of the Africa Public Health Foundation, Senior Adviser at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, and Lead Consultant on the International Health Regulations Strengthening Programme at Public Health England.
She served as Honorary Senior Adviser to the founding Director of Africa CDC, during which she co-led the creation of the Partnership for African Vaccine Manufacturing. She is an Associate Fellow of the Global Health Programme at Chatham House and contributes regularly to PLOS Medicine, BMJ, and Think Global Health.
Ebere is also an Honorary Affiliate of the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore.
